Trach Care Training in VR – MedVR Education

A tracheostomy is a medical procedure in which an opening (stoma) is created in the neck to insert a tube through a person's windpipe. A specially designed tracheostomy tube is inserted through the opening in the throat below the vocal cords, allowing air to enter the lungs without passing through the nasal and oral passages. It also helps clear secretions from the airways.

MedVR - Virtual Reality for Tracheostomy Nursing Training

MedVR is a new tracheostomy care training system built around an immersive mixed reality simulation that combines virtual reality (VR), audio effects, and tactile haptics. Realistic bedside simulations recreate high-fidelity, high-pressure situations where individuals or groups must take critical action quickly and dexterously. The app was developed in collaboration with Cardiff Hospital and Vale to improve the quality and accessibility of simulation-based training.

How Virtual Reality Could Transform Your Trach care training in VR

Realistic headboard simulations

Learn complex nursing procedures in highly realistic environments, including wards and intensive care units

Tactile feedback

Our new immersive technology allows you to feel and see to develop muscle memory.

Remote teamwork

Learners can remotely interact with other tutors, observers, or trainers in the virtual environment

No VR experience is necessary

We take care of the implementation, management, and maintenance of your virtual reality equipment

CPD Competence Matrix

Integration with electronic training materials helps you manage your competency matrix

Convenient and accessible

Anyone with a virtual reality headset can take training from anywhere.

Training health workers can be difficult due to high costs and limited infrastructure. Our VR solution overcomes these obstacles and allows you to train multiple people at the same time.

Healthcare workers can be trained on the job without harming patients.

Correct procedures

The Trach care training in VR teaches the correct procedures for treating a tracheostomy. Training focuses on performing these procedures in a safe and controlled environment with no potential harm to patients.

Reports

A full performance analysis is stored in your database for each workout. Our online platform allows instructors to assess each student's performance.

Trainees who need additional training can be pursued separately, while others who have mastered the process can continue working. And it has been proven time and again practice makes perfect.

Better retention

The challenge is to increase the educational value of training while reducing learning time. Thanks to the immersive nature of Trach care training in VR, people remember what they learn and can apply it later with fewer mistakes. Studies have shown that people learn three times faster, with a 30% higher retention rate.

Train anywhere, anytime

The only requirement for VR training is a 2x2 meter area. Any interior space with sufficient space can be used as a training room. This allows you to increase your training capacity while reducing costs.
